1. Introduction

Coverocity ("we," "us," "our") operates the coverocity.com website, a free service that connects people shopping for auto, health (ACA), life or final expense cover with licensed insurance agents and carriers.

Coverocity is not an insurance company, is not a licensed insurance producer, and is not an agency. We do not issue policies, quote binding rates, underwrite, or make coverage decisions. Every one of those is done by the licensed agent or carrier you are matched with, and rates, eligibility and terms are set solely by them and subject to underwriting.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we pass it to, and what you can ask us to do about it. By using coverocity.com you agree to it. If you do not, please do not submit the form.

2. What we collect

**Everyone who completes the form gives us:** the kind of cover you want (auto, health, life or final expense), your ZIP code, your date of birth, whether you are currently insured, your first and last name, your email address and your phone number.

**We store your age as well as your date of birth.** Every line of insurance here is age-rated, so we calculate your age once from the date you give and store it alongside. You only ever type the date.

**Depending on which cover you choose, we also collect:**

• **Auto** — vehicle year and make, how many drivers are on the policy, any incidents in the last three years, and your current carrier.

• **Health (ACA)** — household size, an income band, and why you are looking for cover. The income band is a range, never an exact figure, and we do not ask for or store tax documents.

• **Life** — the coverage amount you want, whether you use tobacco, and a self-reported health class.

• **Final expense** — the coverage amount you want and whether you use tobacco.

**Automatically:** IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the referring site, and the advertising parameters attached to the link you arrived on. See our Cookie Policy.

We do **not** ask for, and you should never send us, a Social Security number, a driver's licence number, a policy number, bank or card details, or medical records. We do not run a credit check and we do not require a medical exam to match you.

3. Health and financial information

Tobacco use and a self-reported health class are **health information**. A household income band is **financial information**. Under the California Privacy Rights Act and several other state laws these count as sensitive personal information, and we treat them that way wherever you live.

We collect them for one reason: a life or final expense quote cannot be produced without them, and an ACA subsidy estimate cannot be produced without an income band. We use them to route your request to agents appointed for that line and to let those agents quote you. We do not use them to infer characteristics about you, and we do not use them for advertising.

Coverocity is **not** a HIPAA covered entity and this information is not protected health information in our hands. Once an agent or carrier receives it, their own obligations and privacy notice apply.

You may ask us to limit the use of this information, or to delete it, at any time — see "Your rights" below.

4. How we use it

To match you with licensed agents and carriers appointed for the line you asked about and licensed in your state; to contact you about your request; to verify the information is genuine and to detect fraudulent or duplicate submissions; to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, including retaining proof of the consent you gave; and to measure and improve how the site performs.

We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not share it with anyone for their own independent marketing.

5. Who receives your information

**Licensed insurance agents and carriers.** This is the point of the service. When you submit the form we pass your details to one or more licensed agents or carriers so they can contact you with quotes. They become independent controllers of that information and handle it under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Insurance producers are licensed **per state and per line of authority**. We route your request only to agents whose licensing covers both your state and the cover you asked for.

**Service providers** who work on our behalf under contract — hosting, email and SMS delivery, analytics, fraud and consent-verification vendors.

**Legal** — where we are required to disclose by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

**MOBILE OPT-IN DATA IS NEVER SOLD OR SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES FOR THEIR MARKETING PURPOSES.** Your consent to be contacted by text is used only to deliver the messages described below, and it is not passed to anyone for their own campaigns.

7. Stopping contact

**Texts:** reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and nothing after it. Reply HELP for assistance.

**Email:** use the unsubscribe link in any message.

**Calls:** tell the caller to put you on their do-not-call list, or email privacy@coverocity.com.

Revoking consent with us stops **our** contact. Agents and carriers who already received your request are separate businesses — you may need to tell them directly, and we will tell you who they were if you ask.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to know what we hold about you and where it came from, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how sensitive information is used, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these.

California residents additionally have the right to know the categories of information disclosed for a business purpose in the last 12 months, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" as those terms are defined by the CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information as defined there.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@coverocity.com. We will verify who you are before we act, and respond within the time your state's law allows — 45 days in California, extendable once where permitted. An authorised agent may act for you with written proof.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your request and the consent record for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations. Consent and contact records are generally retained for at least five years, because the limitation periods under telephone-consumer-protection law can run that long and the record is the defence.

You can ask for deletion sooner. We will honour it except where we are required to retain something, in which case we will tell you what and why.

10. Security

Information is transmitted over TLS and stored on access-controlled infrastructure with encryption at rest. Access is limited to people who need it.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information we will notify you and the relevant regulators as the law requires.

11. Children

coverocity.com is for adults. The form requires a date of birth showing you are at least 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and will delete it promptly if we learn we have. Contact privacy@coverocity.com if you believe a child has submitted information.

12. Availability

Not available in all states. Products, carriers and agents differ by state, and some lines are not offered everywhere. If we have no appointed agent for your state and line we will tell you rather than pass your details on.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top changes when we do. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use coverocity.com after a change means you accept it.
